Making Of New Amulets

We had seen many clay statues of the Buddha and deities in temples and in shops, mostly these statues are made by monks, holy men or even by factories; using the help of machine moulds. Handcrafted moulds and images by monks are rather hard to find these days.

Each year without fail during the month of March - May, Luang Phor Intavanno will painstakingly sculpture images of the Buddha or heavenly deities.

Year 2004, Luang Phor Intavanno sculptured a few images and they are the statues of Rasi and statuettes of Kungmang Tong. As you can see from the pictures on your left, you will understand that the process of making images is a laborious and time-consuming process.

Long hours of sunning depending on weather, pounding, gathering the materials, the amount of patient in sculpturing and determining the right composition of formula for each of the statues was necessary.

Concentration is the key factor to a nice finished piece as the visions of these images appears in the mind of Luang Phor Intavanno while he is sculpturing, through the visions Luang Phor Intavanno has conscientiously handcraft not just one but all of them. These images are therefore unique and are the unparalleled creations of Luang Phor Intavanno.

On your right shows the moulds (also known as "Pims" in Thai)  that Luang Phor Intavanno used to make all his amulets.  This moulds or "pims" are also made solely by Luang Phor Intavanno himself.

Year 2004, is the first year where Luang Phor Intavanno solely made amulets in the Lord Buddha Image.

Phra Tungsekti or Phra Leela known to some, is the 1st batch of amulet in the Lord Buddha image made solely by Luang Phor Intavanno himself.

This amulet is made to mark the event of Kartina 2004 and to raise funds for our temple building.

This is a very exclusive amulet; very good for protection, enhancing success, luck, congeniality and it is a very good lucky charm that one should get for themselves or loved ones. People in the Armed Forces, Police Forces, sales and Businessmen should wear this amulet.

The "Phra Upakut Tat" amulets made and consecreated by Luang Phor Intavanno are out for "chow"! Check it out at the amulet page!

The history of the "Phra Upakut Tat" amulet actually come form Cambodia and it is believe that it can bring wealth, success and abundance of good fortune for people who wear it.

Pannsa Batch Amulets

This year is a very special year, Luang Phor Intavanno had made a few additional batch of amulets during his "Pannsa" (Rain Retreat). All these special batch of amulets are made from very special and powerful compositions for our temple fund raising.

These batch of amulets are made using relics of late monks, ashes and bones of late monks and many more powerful auspicious compositions. To further boost these amulets real gems like emeralds and rubies were also used.

Gems Of The Hermits has now cease all amulets making.

These amulets are the last batch of amulets made and consecrated by Luang Phor Intavanno.

There will be no more amulet making by our temple unless due to special occasion. However the temple will still be making "Bucha"(Buddhist Figurine) every year as this is one of the temple tradition.
